Vincent D. Blondel is professor of applied mathematics and is the current president of the University of Louvain in Belgium. He is a former president of the Belgium National Research Fund (FNRS). Blondel’s research interests include several areas of mathematical control theory, theoretical computer science, network science and data science. He has been a regular (and happy) visitor to LIDS (and now IDSS) at MIT for over 20 years, and looking forward to the next 20 years. He is a IEEE Fellow, a SIAM Fellow and a member of the Belgian Royal Academy of Science.
